Planning personalized coasters for an event or business gift

Consider artwork, natural material variation and package quantities when choosing engraved coasters.

Decide whether the coaster is a gift or part of the table

For a place setting, you may want a coaster at every seat. For a gift to a household, a set may make more sense. Make that decision before comparing product prices because the number of pieces can differ from the number of packages.

Ask how many coasters are included in the exact option you select. Product photos can show a set even when an option is sold as a different quantity.

Give the artwork a focal point

A monogram, family name or simple logo gives the design a clear centre. If you add a date or message, leave space between the main design and the edge.

For business use, check that the smallest part of the logo remains readable. A detailed version used on stationery may need a simpler companion design for a coaster. Ask before changing an approved company logo.

Consider the material

Natural slate can vary in colour and edge shape. That variation affects how a set looks together, so review the product description when deciding whether it suits your event.

A digital preview cannot reproduce every natural surface. Ask about finish and artwork contrast if those details are important to your design. Avoid using the screen colour as an exact match for table linens or other décor.

Plan the handover

Coasters need a different packing plan from light paper favors. If you are transporting gifts to a venue, consider who will carry them and where they will be stored before setup.

Confirm the current package contents and delivery details with the seller. Keep the final quantity in pieces and packages in your planning notes so the setup team knows what to expect.
