Baby shower favors when the name is still a surprise
Personalize baby shower favors with wording that leaves room for plans to change.
Use the details you are ready to share
You can personalize a shower favor before the baby name is public. A family name, the parents’ names or a short thank-you can give the gift a personal connection without announcing anything early.
Ask the parents what they want printed or engraved. A host may know a name privately, but that does not mean the parents want it on a gift that guests will photograph.
Be deliberate about dates
The shower date is a fixed part of the celebration once the event is confirmed. A due date can change and may be information the family would prefer to keep private. Choose the detail that best fits the gift.
Write the date in one agreed format and copy it into the design. If invitations use a numeric date, consider whether spelling out the month will make the keepsake clearer to guests.
Use colour without making assumptions
A favourite colour or a room theme can guide the favor design. You do not need to tie the palette to a gender announcement. If the event includes a reveal, ask when guests will receive the gifts so the packaging does not give away a surprise.
For mixed colours, record a quantity beside each colour name. Check the sum against the package size before sending the order.
Plan how guests receive the gifts
A basket near the exit takes little table space, while a gift at each place setting helps you distribute one per guest. Choose a method that suits the room and tell the host where any extra gifts will be kept.
Before approving the design, check the parents’ names and any wording in another language with someone who knows the intended spelling. Keep the final text with the guest count.
