An engraved keychain design checklist before you order
Check names, dates, colour mixes and design placement before submitting a personalized keychain order.
Separate the message from the decoration
Start with the wording that needs to be on the keychain. Add an icon only if it helps the design. A small heart or star can work with a short message, while several decorative elements can leave too little room for the letters.
Write down your preferred line breaks. The same words can feel very different on one line or two, and a long surname may need a different layout from a short one.
Check every character
Read the text backwards, one word at a time, to focus on spelling rather than meaning. Check accents and apostrophes separately. For dates, compare the design with the event invitation or another confirmed record.
If several people are reviewing the artwork, choose one person to send the final decision. Conflicting versions in separate messages make it harder to know which wording is approved.
Review the actual product option
Confirm the selected shape and colour before judging the preview. A design prepared for a heart-shaped item may need different spacing on a narrow opener.
For a colour mix, make a short list of the quantities you want. The total should equal the number of favors in the chosen package. Save that list with the order so it remains clear if you discuss changes later.
Keep the approved version
An on-screen preview helps you arrange the design, though the physical material and production method affect the final appearance. Ask about any detail that depends on the finish, especially small text or a complex image.
Save the wording and the design version you approve. If the team asks a follow-up question, you can point to one clear reference.
